Tradeshow

European Bioplastics Conference

December 1-2, 2026
Titanic Hotel Berlin, Germany

The European Bioplastics Conference brings material producers, converters, brands, packaging teams, policymakers, researchers, and sustainability leaders into one focused conversation around bio-based and biodegradable materials. For exhibitors, this is not a high-volume consumer show. It is a place to explain material performance, certification, applications, supply, end-of-life, and policy impact clearly. Strong booth conversations start with the buyer’s application and end with a next step that moves sampling, testing, or partnership forward.

3 ways to make every European Bioplastics Conference conversation count

Walk the floor with intent. Walk away with next steps.
🎯

Start with the application

Ask what the attendee is trying to replace, improve, or launch. Packaging film, rigid packaging, agriculture, food service, and consumer products all need different proof.

📄

Be clear on claims and certification

Buyers will ask about compostability, biodegradability, recycled content, bio-based content, testing, and standards. Keep the answer precise and easy to follow.

🧪

Move strong interest into sampling or testing

A useful next step is a material sample, technical data review, converter discussion, application test, or brand team meeting. Capture that before the conversation ends.

Best practices for exhibitors at European Bioplastics Conference

🌱

Qualify by application and buyer role

Brand teams, converters, material suppliers, and policy professionals need different information. Capture application, volume, timeline, and decision role early.
💡 How momencio helps: Use surveys and lead scoring to tag application type, buyer role, material need, and commercial readiness during the conversation.
📄

Keep certification proof close to the demo

Claims around bio-based content, compostability, and biodegradability need evidence. Bring certification documents, test summaries, and application notes that buyers can review.
💡 How momencio helps: Reps can share the right interactive content for material claims, certification notes, and application-specific proof.
🧪

Record testing requirements clearly

A serious lead may need food-contact details, shelf-life data, mechanical properties, converter trials, or composting standards. Capture the exact requirement.
💡 How momencio helps: Smart notes and notifications help preserve technical context and trigger the right follow-up with R&D or sales.
📬

Follow up with the exact data requested

Do not send a general brochure if the lead asked about film performance or EN 13432. Send the specific data tied to the conversation.
💡 How momencio helps: A strong event follow-up formula keeps post-event emails relevant to the buyer’s material question.
🤝

Separate commercial leads from policy conversations

Policy, research, and commercial buying conversations all matter, but they should not be treated the same in CRM or follow-up.
💡 How momencio helps: CRM best practices for event leads help teams keep strategic, commercial, and partner conversations organized after the event.
📊

Report by application area and readiness

A good post-event report should show which applications generated interest, which leads requested samples, and which accounts are ready for follow-up.
💡 How momencio helps: Performance dashboards help teams view outcomes by application, lead type, content engagement, and next step.

10 FAQs for exhibitors and event pros attending European Bioplastics Conference 2025

For anyone selling into the bioplastics value chain in Europe, yes. The audience is small (around 400 senior decision-makers) but extremely concentrated — brand owners, converters, regulators, and producers all in two days. It’s a depth play, not a volume play.
EBC is the policy- and value-chain-heavy one — anchored in Berlin, run by the EU industry association, and built around regulatory and commercial decisions. Other events lean more toward materials science showcases or broader sustainability conversations with less direct buyer density.
Bio-based means the polymer is made from renewable feedstock. Biodegradable means it breaks down under specific microbial conditions. Compostable is a stricter subset — it must break down within set timeframes and leave no harmful residue, certified to EN 13432 or ASTM D6400.
Neither, currently. PPWR doesn’t yet set requirements for bio-based content the way it does for recycled content. The Commission is reviewing whether bio-based plastics should count toward recycled content quotas — a decision expected by 12 February 2028.
It’s the legally binding self-declaration that confirms a specific packaging meets PPWR sustainability requirements. The manufacturer signs it — typically whoever places the packaging on the EU market under their brand — and the signatory carries personal liability for the claims.
PPWR entered into force on 11 February 2025 and applies from 12 August 2026. Substance restrictions (heavy metals, PFAS) hit first. Recycled content and recyclability requirements phase in through 2030 and 2040 as delegated acts get finalized.
Both certify compostability against EN 13432 for industrial composting, and both have home-compost variants. TÜV Austria’s OK Compost is more widely recognized internationally; DIN CERTCO is German-rooted but EU-wide. For most EU brand owners, either certification is acceptable — buyers usually accept both.
Capture explicit opt-in at the moment of contact, log lawful basis, and store an immutable audit trail tied to each lead record. Lead capture tools that bundle this natively — instead of bolting consent on after — protect exhibitors from regulatory risk and look professional doing it.
The right tool handles GDPR consent natively, captures across QR badges and business cards, works offline, and lets you attach LCAs or certification letters to specific leads without breaking flow. momencio is built for this kind of document-heavy, EU-regulated exhibitor scenario.
Within 24 hours, send a recap that mirrors the booth conversation — the exact LCA, certification, or test data the buyer saw — through a personalized link they can forward internally. Generic “great to meet you” emails get archived; context-rich ones get circulated to procurement.

momencio - AI Lead Enrichment

Overview

The AI Lead Enrichment is a proprietary service of momencio designed to simplify and enhance the
process of capturing and enriching lead information at any type of event.

By using momencio’s mobile or tablet app, you can use the device’s camera to take a clear picture of any form of identification, including, but not limited to, name tags/event badges/business cards. Our AI-driven service leverages OCR technology to identify any information captured and map any relevant data to a contact record. The contact record is then fed to our Lead Enrichment service, which creates a more complete contact record. The process provides exhibitors with the most accurate and up-to-date contact details available.

The Reality of Event Data Collection

In the dynamic environment of event floors, achieving perfect data accuracy can sometimes be challenging. Both traditional lead capture methods using event APIs and AI Lead Enrichment strive for
high accuracy, but various factors can impact the data collected:

  • Personal Email Usage: Some attendees register with personal email addresses.
  • Name Misspellings: Minor errors can occur during registration.
  • Generic Email Addresses: Use of addresses like marketing@domain.com.
  • Broad Registration Categories: Attendees might register under general titles (e.g., Biomedical
    Student).
  • Complex Company Structures: Companies with multiple sub-companies can complicate data
    accuracy.

AI Lead Enrichment is specifically designed to manage these scenarios, continually learning and
adapting to improve its accuracy.

  • AI (Artificial Intelligence): Enhances basic information with additional details.
  • Data Enrichment: Adds valuable contact details to enhance lead profiles.
  • LinkedIn Services: Provides up-to-date professional profiles.

Our Commitment to Excellence

AI Lead Enrichment excels in providing accurate data, yet certain edge cases may present challenges. These include:

  • Private LinkedIn Profiles: Some professional details might be inaccessible.
  • Personal Email Addresses: When registrants use personal rather than business emails.
  • Small-Scale Businesses: Limited online presence can affect data richness.
  • Self-Employed Individuals: Lack of company affiliation might limit available data.
  • Event Staff Contacts: Scanned badges may occasionally belong to event staff.
  • Extensive Sub-Company Networks: Complexity in identifying the correct entity.
  • Security-Sensitive Industries: Industries like military or government may have restricted
    information.

Despite these potential challenges,
AI Lead Enrichment strives to provide the best possible data,
ensuring valuable insights for effective follow-ups.
